Project Description:
This luxurious ensemble features a flowing kimono, a delicate bralette, and effortlessly chic pants, creating a refined yet relaxed look using locally created traditional Aso Oke Fabric.
Project Sustainability Approach:
Artisans ground every stage of the Aso Oke production process in eco-friendly practices, from extracting cotton seeds to the final weave. Using natural materials, hand-spun yarn, and traditional manual weaving techniques, they minimize energy use, making Aso Oke one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world.
Local and Regional Impacts of the Project:
Its exceptional durability further strengthens its environmental value. Unlike mass-produced textiles that quickly deteriorate, Aso Oke is crafted to endure and is often passed down through generations. In a fast-fashion–driven world, it stands as a timeless alternative—one that honors quality, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility.
