Product Description:
The Plank-Ton Prep System is a modular food preparation and cooking system that breaks the established sensibilities around function and aesthetics when cooking outdoors. The aesthetics and function are based around communal and inclusive social cooking that doesn't try to dominate or impose itself on the natural environment, and literally reflects it. Lightweight, collapsable and compact with built in functional elements to help the camper, overlander, lodge game drive, and the park/beach picnic goer more enjoy the process of entertaining and preparation in the outdoors and wilderness. Manufactured from stainless steel and aluminium the unit is designed to be used over a lifetime in all conditions.
Product Innovation / Specification:
Modular Accessories -This product offers all the associated necessities when cooking outdoors. These can be added depending on the budget and needs of the user. -Accessories include solar rechargeable lighting, drinks holder, magnetic knife holder, side table, tailings bin, storage shelf, storage basket, utility hook, removable windshield. Better Burner - The product uses the burner assembly as a hub for all the extensions and accessories to attach to and build from. - Being modular it can limitlessly extend should other users want to join their kits together. - The Gas cylinder is hung from the burner, this uses a pendulum effect to stabilise the cooker from bumps, making it safer. - The burner also features a unique burner grate that accommodates both large pots and crucially smaller receptacles such as Moka pots and mugs. The unit dismantles into a tool roll, and re-assembles quickly in less than 5 minutes.
Product Sustainability Approach:
All materials are 100% recyclable and produced locally and sourced not more than 30km from where they are value added in terms of machining, finishing and assembly. The unit is lifecycle costed to be used for a generation. The parts are all easily self repaired and are similar. A tool is provided so that self service and maintenance is easy.
Local and Regional Impacts of the Product:
Locally I hope to employ more people and contribute to the sustainable use of local materials and procesess.
