Project Description:
A Former Comms Girlie’s Guide to Presentations is a little zine about how to do great presentations for fellow students. This project was developed at the end of my first year of my masters at RMIT after noticing the high marks that I would get in the presentation portion after doing projects as classwork. I reflected on five points that helped me structure my presentations, and then used that to create the readable part of the zine. As an interactive element of the zine, I created a space where students can brainstorm their points and structure for their presentations. The zine was printed exclusively on the Risograph. The point of the booklet was to find a warm way to demystify presentations. As some who holds a background in communications, I found presentations not to be so intimidating. However, not everyone has that privilege. Hence why I decided to use my ever-growing design thinking and love for zines to create this work.

Local and Regional Impacts of the Project:
A Former Comms Girlie’s Guide to Presentations does provide a resource for students (or anyone really) to begin making their own presentations. The art of a good presentation isn’t as widely known, and that leads to a bit of trepidation with approaching presentations. This booklet is meant to be used and reused for different presentation as a sustainable planning resource. Even through the final output was printed via Risograph, it can be printed with any printer and it will still work as intended.
