Nelly Wandji, an ICC Luxury & Retail expert, has dedicated her career to revealing the cultural and economic strength of brands rooted in African heritage. Founder of MoonLook, a strategic innovation agency devoted to supporting African heritage brands, she has been working since 2014 to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of talents and entrepreneurs from the continent and its diaspora. Through economic intelligence, training, and commerce, Nelly shapes an ecosystem where traditions, craftsmanship, and innovation come together to build sustainable, globally influential brands.
Holding a Master’s degree in International Trade with a specialization in Luxury Management, she began her career in retail with a Swiss group distributing prestigious maisons such as Breguet, Omega, Dior, Tiffany & Co., and many others. Today, she places her luxury expertise at the service of a contemporary vision of heritage, notably embodied in her gallery-boutique projects on Faubourg Saint-Honoré between 2016 and 2020, conceived as an African Cabinet of Curiosities; in exhibitions highlighting fine crafts at the Grand Palais during the Révélations Biennials; and in collaborations with auction houses such as Piasa and Artcurial to guide exceptional pieces toward new collectors.
Committed to heritage valorization and economic development in Africa, she collaborates with international institutions such as UNESCO, the Institut Français, and the Sèmè City Foundation to promote advocacy in favor of MADE IN AFRICA. Her engagement reflects a strong conviction: building African heritage brands means laying the foundations for a future in which the continent’s identity and creativity become drivers of social and economic transformation.
