Isaro Lise Katangulia

Architect Director at Ilia Studio / Founder of African Female Architects

Isaro Lise Katangulia is a registered architect in Rwanda and an International member of the American Institute of Architects. She serves as a committee member for the Rwanda Institute of Architects and on the East African Institute council. Lise advocates for architectural education through her role in the Architecture & Children category and as an instructor with “Architecture is Free.”

She founded and curates *African Female Architects*, a magazine celebrating African women in architecture, and blogs about art and architecture to enhance visibility for the profession. Lise has worked with various firms, including Vavaki Architects and Atelier Ltd, and she founded her studio, Ilia, in 2016, which emphasises innovative design with sustainability at its core.
