Issa Diabaté is an architect with a Master’s degree from Yale University (USA). Co-founder of Koffi & Diabaté Group, he leads Koffi & Diabaté Architectes, the firm he established in 2001 with Guillaume Koffi. His career is driven by a consistent ambition to rethink the role of the architect in Africa—at the intersection of urban planning, design, and real estate development.
He trained with firms such as Goly Kouassi, Devrouax & Purnell, and Jean Nouvel & Cattani, before distinguishing himself through projects with strong social, urban, and cultural impact. Recognized on the international architectural scene, Issa Diabaté has spoken at Columbia University, Design Indaba, and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
A Knight of the Order of Cultural Merit, he also co-designed the IKEA collection “ÖVERALLT,” and advocates for architecture that is sustainable, contextual, and accessible. Through his projects, he contributes to shaping African cities that are inclusive, resilient, and forward-looking.
